Kids Educational Programs & Activities

Our most robust and flexible of program offerings, we can provide a unique, super fun, and highly beneficial educational experience! Kelpful has many ready-to-go options for the younger crowd and we would love to host an experience for your students, kids camp, or any group of children! Some available options are: foraging tours in the tide pools, more formal lesson plan curriculum with interactive activities, seaweed press art, even cooking classes. Reach out with your ideas and we can tailor the perfect experience for your kids!

Wellness Retreats

Looking for a unique whole body wellness experience? We partner with some of the best wellness practitioners to bring a full mind, body, and soul experience. We can combine any of our seaweed activities from seasoning workshops to cooking demonstrations, kelp spa activities and merfolk bath salt workshops, to sound baths, reiki, even mental health and life coaching. Cooking Demonstrations

Do you love seaweed but you aren’t sure what to do with it? Kelpful would love to educate you in the kitchen. Not only will you learn about the benefits of seaweed and identification of some of the tastiest varieties, we will help guide you on how to best prepare them while together cooking and enjoying some delicious meals! We can accommodate any food allergies and restrictions. This program is portable and we would love to come to you. Reach out and we’ll plan your next tasty kitchen experience!

Sustainability Workshops (Great for corporate groups!)

Kelpful’s favorite offering is an educational course has a goal of invoking a sense of place and includes education around sustainability, climate change, and coastal resilience. This program is great for corporate groups and includes team-building and leadership training and activities. Together, we will work on creating or improving a sustainability plan as individuals and within businesses. This program can include a foraging tour, any of the above workshops and demonstrations, and is portable. We can take you out in San Luis Obispo County or come to you!
